1899 cover originally addressed to ''Freemantle'' but with ''UNKNOWN BY LETTER CARRIER'' & ''UNCLAIMED'' box cancels returned to RTS address of Forest Hill, Kent, England. Thereafter a variety of cancels applied including 1d swan tied by Lewisham cds for JY 9 '99 & the rare ''TPO GSR OC 12 '99'' cds as all 1899 mail to the UK went via ship from Albany. Full history of journey with item incl. the original OHMS envelope from the Returned Letter Office, GPO, London. A wonderfully travelled piece of early WA postal history.
