1945 (4th Mar) OHMS Land Titles Office cover Perth with "Get into line .. Buy and Hold War Savings Certificates" slogan on reverse of this small buff env with 5½d Gloucester perfined "WA" tied to by Perth Registered cds & addressed to Marradong. "Deceased interred Marradong cemetery 30 yrs ago" in m/s. Williams B28 transit with three letter month (recorded use in PMI 20-09-47 to 11-08-59). Note: the first use of postal markings at Marradong is recorded in PMI as 1883 with the Post Office closing in 1958. No use of a postal marker was recorded between 2-11-43 to 30-9-52 in PMI. Was the PO closed & business diverted temporarily until after the war? Attractive & interesting item in VG cond with original enclosure.
