1854 (3rd Aug) 1/- green embossed (partially cut to shape) vertical pair on mourning env addressed to Sydney, "New S Wales" with annotated date in m/s. Bold "SHIP LETTER SYDNEY OC 19 1854" crown arrival b/s with neighbouring AF AUG 1854 departure cds. Black wax seal remains on reverse. A wonderful example of GB Embossed overseas usage & incoming NSW mail. Good cond & a remarkable survivor. SG 55, Cat. £1900+
