Tibet 1912-1956 specialised collection written up on leaves with c140 stamps & 50 covers. Incls many forgeries indicated with reference to 2 specialist publication "The Postal History of Tibet" by Arnold C. Waterfall & "Postmarks of Tibet" by Wolfgang C.Hellrigl, RDP. FRPSL. Noted 1911 Chinese Imperial Post surcharges in Indian currency to 12 annas on 50¢. Top value fine but a few stained perfs on 1 anna, 3 annas & 4 annas. SG Cat. £2000+ for these 9 vals. Noted "One Rupee" on $1 used on piece (SG C10, Cat. £1400), 1915 cover to Calcutta with Indian KGV ½a tied by Gyantse-Tibet cds & Baba-Bazar/Calcutta arrival. Note that during the period of Tibet stamps additional franking was required on mail leaving Tibet as it was not a UPU member so it's stamps only had local mail validity. This collection incls Telegraphs & Official stamps not listed in SG.
