Cook Islands 1892 study written up on leaves showing original design of the Post & Stationery Department (PASD surrounded by "Greek Key" frame endorsing "Postage Free" around crown, imperf in black), reproduction of Common Seal of the Cook Islands showing the seven stars incl in the first stamp issue, an unused 2½d (thinned, no gum) being used on same page to illustrate comparisons. Two full sets with gum are separated under the titles "Fairly Thick "Yellowish-Toned" Wove Paper" & "Medium Thick "Whiter" Wove Paper". One 2½d has thin spot, all have gum but as usual with this issue disturbances somewhat detract. This is also the case with a block of 6 x 1d (odd tone spot) annotated with blow ups of constant varieties. A further page shows a 1d forgery with genuine for comparison. Total cat. £730 (18 items)
