Ireland 1929 (26th Aug) Galway-London First Flight postcard addressed to Perth WA with commem pictorial purple cachet "First Air Mail 26th Aug 1929 Galway-London". 1d defin tied by Galway cds of same date. This was an experimental flight with a view to speeding up mail from the USA to London. The charge for this service was 3d but this card was carried on from London to Australia all for 1d. Rarely seen.
