India 1911 (18th Feb) World's first airmail cover from Allahabad via Bombay to Yendon, Victoria bearing 1a for the British Empire surface rate. Tied by "FIRST AERIAL POST 1911 U. P. EXHIBITION ALLAHABAD" plane illust cachet in magenta. Allahabad b/s dated 18 FE 11 & Bombay 20 FE 11. This is the earliest powered flight airmail cover & believed to be the only example recorded to Australia. The addressee is Clyde Fiskin of Lal Lal House who won the House of Representatives seat of Ballarat at the 1934 Federal elections. Torn back flap otherwise in remarkably good cond & a rare survivor.
