1940 (16th July) Australia to New Zealand to USA on First Trans Pacific Airmail but with all mail delayed in NZ due to outbreak of WWII hence 1/6d Hermes & 6d KS Airmail for Regd mail on this Postcard is tied by GPO Sydney cds dated 3 NO 39 but then the Reg label & 6d tied by Auckland 19 JL 40 cds & finally San Francisco & Los Angeles cds's for 24/25 JUL. "New Zealand - USA Air Mail Service Via New Caledonia, Canton Is. and Hawaii" cachet in violet on reverse. Good cond. AAMC 905, Cat. $100+
