1938 (28th June) "The East Asiatic Co" San Francisco company env addressed to Sydney originally franked with 25c x 2. "Returned for Additional Postage Foreign Section S.F.P.O." cachet completed in m/s with additional 20c affixed in the form of 5c x 4 coil strip. "CLIPPER MAIL" s/l cachet in mauve & carried by Pan Am FAM14 "Hawaii", flight 113, which broke a wing strut upon take off at San Francisco on 29th June. Repairs were effected & service resumed on 3rd July connecting with the Imperial Airways Hong Kong Feeder Service (flight HB39) to Bangkok & on to Australia. "Golden Gate International Exposition" cinderella on reverse with Victoria, Hong Kong 12 JY 38 & Chippendale, NSW 25 JY 39 b/s's. Vert fold but good cond.
