1940 (16th July) Australia to New Caledonia. Special Ulm card already carried on Ulm's original Australia to NZ flight in December 1933. Registered Enmore & addressed to EA Crome c/o Postmaster in Noumea, it has 3d KGVI & 6d KS Airmail tied by Enmore NSW & GPO Sydney Air cds's complete with Auckland arrival cds for 19 JL 40. Cachet in mauve with Noumea b/s & Pam American Airways cachet. Carried by RMS "Niagara" to NZ (with violet cachet) & flown by Pan Am California Clipper to Noumea with the flight delayed due to outbreak of war. Also signed by Capt. J H Tilton from this flight Original signings on the back for Ulm, Allan & Boulton. Good cond. AAMC 905c Undervalued in AAMC at Cat. $450+
