1934 (24th Oct) Scott & Campbell-Black privately printed "ENGLAND-AUSTRALIA AIR RACE (Started October 20th, 1934)" Registered (with BULK REGISTRATION MELBOURNE, VIC label) cover to England bearing 3d Air x 2, 6d typo Kookaburra, 2d Vic Cent & (on arrival) GB ½d KGV. Reverse shows Melbourne despatch & Perth transit cds's plus boxed "DAMAGED BY WATER AT CHANCERY LANE SAFE DEPOSIT DURING AIR RAID SEPTEMBER 1940". A unique reminder of the German air-raids on London.
